Our organic rosemary hydrolate for supplements originates from the plant species Rosmarinus officinalis. The distillate is offered under the name Rosemary organic hydrolate for supplements. The organic composition includes only plant ingredients and allows no preservatives or colorants in the liquid. The raw material comes from Bulgaria, and the plantations follow organic rules and receive no synthetic fertilizers or chemical agents against plant pests. The species belongs to the Lamiaceae family, in which the aromatic compounds accumulate above ground and remain far from the root and the underground organs. The volatile fraction is held in peltate glandular trichomes, whose secretory cavity on the leaves of the species is extensive. Steam distillation leads to a clean olfactory profile, as only the soluble light compounds of the aerial stalk remain in the water. The aroma manifests itself strongly, the spicy side comes forward, and the bitter one follows it. The tone stays between colorless and light pink and does not go beyond this range. The pale color reveals the small amount of coloring substances present in the distillate. The olfactory character is built on cineole, pinene and camphor, followed by camphene and borneol, which is why the spiciness comes forward. The spiciness arises from these compounds, while the bitter side comes later.
